Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. The hard drive will be detected without having to press F6, and the network card and video card will work out of the box.

Jeremy, you got me thinking about the files issue,so I just kept going back and forth between Gateway, Intel and Schrock.
Can you provide links to known files that do work? Mick Murphy – Microsoft Partner.
How satisfied are you with this response? Then you just have to install the audio, wireless, etc… to make everything work. I am not sure if I have the correct versions. I made dp points after every driver install and had to do a rollback or 2 but in the end everything was perfect and the machine works great with the full resolution and all the whimwhams and doodads.
Had it on at one point but was missing so many drivers, it was causing issues, so I ended up reverting back to Vista much to my dismay! So it can be done. Above link is to XP Forums. Did this solve your problem?

I have the same question 2. You could also try slipstreaming only the SATA drivers to start, then install the network and video after the initial windows setup. I was also straining to find the XP file for the video driver from Gateway.
XP is installed on the the MX, and isworking like a champ.
